The average fresh graduate in search of a job...

Have you ever asked yourself that question before? Why do many Organizations demand for years of experience as specification?

So many job seekers today have become so frustrated. Many have even become tired of applying for jobs just because most jobs they see requires the years of experience they don’t have.

Please also note that employers of labour are humans too and are not intentionally trying to be wicked to aspiring professionals, they too are just trying to protect what they have built to last, which you likely will do too if you were in their shoes, but maybe differently though.

Having a job candidate with the skills for a delicate role but with no practical experience in any structured setting is like knowing how to cook theoretically, but never lifted a spoon before.

For every role that is pushed out by employers or recruiters, no matter how simple they may seem, a level of experience is always required, not necessarily on that specific role for some, but experience generally to show that you are fit and not new to workplace paparazzi.

There is a way an experienced person handles issues around a job over an inexperienced person. If you have no experience, especially if you’re just starting out, you can easily get that with volunteering opportunities around you, find them and get lost in them, build your capacity, stretch beyond the limit of the average job seeker, practice the skills you have on that free job, make mistakes, get better and better, till you’re better. That is your work experience to start with.

Nobody sells experience in the market, it is always hidden in work clothes, you are the one that will search it out.

By the way, there are still some jobs that doesn’t require any work experience. Yes, but the truth is this, if after you have volunteered and built your capacity as advised in this article, you will be preferred over the person with zero experience when it comes to candidate selection, even though the job requires no experience.

Ta da!
